The candidate who was everywhere, all the time wraps up the primary with some astonishing stats
CALIFORNIA – Tom Steyer’s campaign has always had one mission: meet as many Californians as possible, see as much of the state as possible, and learn from the people, organizations, and communities he is fighting for.
Here’s what that looked like for our final primary edition of By The Numbers.
Over 4,000: Californians who attended Steyer’s 14 town halls across 12 cities – where he spent more than 12 hours total taking unscreened questions from real voters.
11: Comprehensive policy plans –with detailed policy proposals for addressing the affordability crisis, protecting Californian families, and building the state’s future
$54.5 million: Dollars spent by corporations and special interest groups trying to stop Steyer, including $1.25 million in scared money they dropped at the last minute yesterday.
105: Number of total endorsers. That’s 59 current and former elected officials, 15 labor unions, 21 advocacy organizations, and 10 climate endorsements – more climate endorsements than any other candidate in the race.
29,820: Press releases and media advisories sent since launch. (We're sorry. Sort of.)
39: Cities across California where Steyer hosted events, met with local leaders and community members, and heard firsthand about the issues facing every corner of the state.
60+: Stops on Steyer’s “A California You Can Afford” bus tour, launched on April 30th, spanning 30 days on the road.
Over 600,000: Volunteer-made calls to voters across the state.
Countless: Times Tom said “let me say this” – because when you spend this much time with Californians, you have a lot to say!
