Steyer Makes the Case for Change in California’s Final Hours of Voting
Tom spent his final days of the campaign connecting with voters and answering questions on the issues that matter most
CALIFORNIA — No ducking. No spinning. No pre-screened questions. That’s how Tom began his campaign and that’s how he’s closing it out: a relentless final sprint, answering every question thrown his way. From discussing the record-breaking amount of money spent against him on SiriusXM, to talking about the future of California with UCLA students, to hearing from Californians at a Pride Month kick-off celebration at a West Hollywood bar, Tom continues to connect with voters and make his case right up until the polls close.
Here’s a look at Tom’s last day on the campaign trail:
KTLA – Riding the new LA Metro line
“There are really only 3 people for 2 spots and the 3 people are a hard right MAGA republican named Steve Hilton, a corporate democrat named Xavier Becerra, and me. I've been trying really hard to work for California people and take no money from corporations [who are] spending 10's of millions of dollars against me.”

NBC LA – Kicking off Pride Month in West Hollywood
“‘[He went through] every issue specifically and identifying what are the affordability issues we are facing and what are ways we can move the needle without putting more pressure on other parts of our economy that are struggling as well,’ said Johnathan Cottrell, owner of Gym Bar.”

“My strategy in this race from the beginning has been to say California needs a change, it’s unaffordable for Californians to live in our own state, we have corporate special interests that are absolutely making prices go up…”

Get Out The Youth Vote Event at UCLA
“‘I’m about to be in the workforce in a couple years, so I think it’s important that someone’s prioritizing working people in our system,’ Van Roekel said.”

What California Needs Next with Cari Champion
“I’ve spent 20 years talking about energy and the environment and climate and one of the things I always say is this… every environmental policy has to start with environmental justice… I’m talking about working for working people and taking on corporations. I am the person who is willing to talk about the truth.”

Talking housing and economics with Kyla Scanlon
“Day one I’m going to call a special election and we are going to close a corporate tax loophole for over $20 billion dollars that is going to go to the cities and counties who have the people who need the housing that we want to build the houses for. That is a complete change… I believe in walkable, safe, diverse neighborhoods. That’s the future of California.”

MeidasTouch – His closing message
“I’m the person who’s promising change in California, who’s promising to drive down costs, who’s talking about single-payer health care and a great school system again, who’s talking about reviving the California dream and making change.
So the last words I’ll say to you on this are very simple: Do you want a California that’s for working Californians, or do you want a California that works for corporations? That’s what it’s come down to. It seems like a very obvious choice to me.”

Why Tom is a threat to the big corporations running California with Dean Obeidallah
“I always say I'm the only billionaire on the ballot, but I'm not the only billionaire in the race because all those people are lining up behind other candidates because they're worried that I actually will make them pay a fair share.”

Polls are open across California until 8:00 p.m. today.
