NEW VIDEO: “California, Go Vote”
Steyer delivers his closing message: the choice is between a California for corporations or a California for Californians
CALIFORNIA — As Californians head to the polls today, the Steyer for Governor campaign released a new video outlining the stakes of this election. This comes at the end of a fiery final stretch on the campaign trail and highlights the contrasts that have defined this election.
Steyer puts it best: “Do you want a California for corporations or do you want a California for Californians?”
Steyer’s campaign has been powered by the very same message since he kicked off his campaign last year — that California should work for working people, not corporate interests. His vision, built on the “not very radical” idea that all Californians deserve single-payer healthcare, a chance to buy a home, and break-up corporate monopoly power.
“Your vote is not for me. Your vote is for a better California,” Steyer says in the video. He points to closing corporate tax loopholes to fund schools and health care, making polluters pay instead of Californians paying at the pump, taking on Trump, and prosecuting ICE.
Polls are open across California until 8:00 p.m. today.

TRANSCRIPT OF VIDEO
This race is simple.
It comes down to one question.
Do you want a California for corporations or do you want a California for Californians?
I'm running for governor because I believe in a not very radical idea that California should work for working people.
Your vote is not for me. Your vote is for a better California.
We can show them that single-payer is possible and home ownership is achievable, and that corporate monopoly power is not inevitable.
We can close corporate tax loopholes to fund our schools and healthcare.
We can make polluters pay instead of Californians having to pay at the pump.
We can take on Trump, and we can prosecute ICE.
California deserves a change, that's what I'm running to deliver.
A California that works for working people is possible, but only if we vote for it.
Let's win this thing.
