NEW ADS ON BECERRA’S CORPORATE INFLUENCE: “So Simple a Kid Could Understand”
Steyer calls out Becerra for taking money from the corporations
CALIFORNIA — In two new ads released today, the Steyer campaign uses a blackboard to educate voters on Becerra being beholden to corporate interests.
One spot takes aim at Xavier Becerra’s ties to Big Oil and his failure to investigate major polluters. The other targets him abandoning his support for single-payer health care in order to appease donors.
“The message is simple: even a kid can recognize corruption when they see it,” Steyer for Governor spokesperson Amelia Platt said. “While Becerra is backed by corporate interests, Tom Steyer is running to take them on — fighting for single-payer healthcare, lower costs, and a government that works for Californians instead of powerful donors.”

TRANSCRIPT FOR “ALLOWANCE”:
It’s so simple a kid could understand.
Mr. Becerra got a big allowance from Big Oil.
And when they polluted our environment, Mr. Becerra didn’t investigate them.
That’s really bad.
Tom Steyer doesn’t take money from the bad guys.
He’ll fight for us.

TRANSCRIPT FOR “BEHIND CLOSED DOORS”:
It’s so simple a kid could understand.
Mr. Becerra told us he’d pass single payer healthcare.
Then, behind closed doors, he promised donors he wouldn’t.
…So he gave him loads of money.
That’s called corruption!
Tom Steyer? He’ll fight for single payer healthcare.
