Assemblymember Damon Connolly Endorses Tom Steyer For Governor
Connolly endorsement underscores Steyer’s climate agenda, focus on corporate accountability, and investments in working Californians
SAN FRANCISCO – Today, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Tom Steyer received the endorsement of Assemblyman Damon Connolly, Chair of the Assembly Committee on Environmental Safety and Toxic Material and representative of the 12th Assembly District. Damon has been fighting for the North Bay for 25 years, as a State Assemblymember representing Marin and Sonoma counties, Marin County Supervisor, Vice-Mayor of San Rafael, School Board President, and California Deputy Attorney General. He is a champion of climate, housing, homelessness, and public safety.
“Tom Steyer has been a proven leader in the fight against climate change,” said Assemblymember Damon Connolly. “In the Legislature, I’ve worked to expand health care access, support workers through the clean energy transition, strengthen wildfire resilience, and close costly corporate tax loopholes. Tom shares that commitment and will make polluters pay. He understands that we must hold corporations accountable in order to invest in our communities. I’m proud to support him for Governor because he has the vision and determination to move California forward, putting people over profit.”
“Assemblymember Damon Connolly is a fierce advocate for climate action, working Californians, and access to affordable health care,” Steyer said. “When it comes to closing corporate tax loopholes, Assemblymember Connolly and I are aligned in our mission to ensure that money is returned to the people of California, where it can strengthen communities, support essential services, and create a more equitable and cleaner state for all communities.”
Assemblyman Connolly joins a long list of elected officials, grassroots organizers, and unions who stand with Steyer. See the full list of endorsers here.
