New endorsement underscores shared priorities on affordability, healthcare expansion, and climate action
SAN FRANCISCO – Today, Democratic gubernatorial candidate and climate advocate Tom Steyer received the endorsement of Assemblymember Chris Rogers, a champion for creating a modern and equitable rural economy, expanding healthcare access, and advancing climate action. Steyer is running on a platform of lowering costs for working Californians by delivering single-payer healthcare, breaking up utility monopolies to lower electric bills by 25%, and closing tax loopholes for corporations and billionaires to fund education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
“California should be a place where every family can afford to live, access quality healthcare, and count on a cleaner, more sustainable future,” Assemblymember Rogers said. “Tom Steyer will fight to lower everyday costs, advance single-payer healthcare, and lead the fight against climate change with urgency and innovation."
“Assemblymember Rogers is a lifelong champion for his community,” Steyer said. “Chris Rogers has consistently put the needs of his constituents first, fighting for stronger local communities, better opportunities, and community-centered solutions to the challenges people face every day. Our shared commitment to building a fairer, more affordable future for all Californians is something I deeply value, and I am honored to have his support in this effort.”
Assemblymember Rogers joins a long list of elected officials, unions, and grassroots organizers, who stand with Steyer. See the full list of endorsers here.
