As Costs Soar, Steyer Teams Up with Assemblymember Lee to Distribute Food for Fremont Families

FREMONT – Today, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Tom Steyer joined Assemblymember Alex Lee at the Tri-City Volunteers Food Bank in Fremont to distribute food on Lunar New Year to serve communities facing the unprecedented surge in grocery costs and housing insecurity.

Today’s event underscored the importance of standing with Asian American families across California facing rising costs and housing insecurity amid attacks on federal social safety nets, like the Trump administration's historic cuts to SNAP benefits.
