On Friday, September 18, our nation lost Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a champion of equality and justice for all people.
From the beginning, Justice Ginsberg fought tirelessly for some of our nation’s most defining issues such as women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights, voting rights, and reproductive health. Our country is better because of her and her legacy.
In the last few days, she selflessly expressed to her granddaughter, “My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed.”
Instead, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has promised to rush through the nomination of 7th Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Amy Coney Barrett and help the Trump administration overturn bedrock decisions for equality like Roe v. Wade.
Email your Senators to respect her wishes and follow the precedent set by McConnell himself in 2016 by refusing to vote on any nominee until after we all vote in November.
